Super Sun expected on 30 April!

Less than two weeks after we experienced the Super Moon, there has been news of another, bigger and even more amazing phenomenon. The Super Sun.
NAPSA (the North American Planetary and Sanitation Association) has announced that the cosmic occurrence will start in the early hours of the 30  April, due to the peculiar alignment of the stars and planets.
The combined gravitational forces exerted on the Sun will cause it to temporarily grow by almost 253 solar meters in diameter, thereby increasing its brightness by 26.8 lukems for one whole day.
The Super Sun’s increased light may cause mild allergic reactions in humans, such as squinting of the eyes and higher than usual perspiration. Cell phone signals may also be disrupted due to the increased light energy reflecting off of antennas and cell phone screens.
Doctors advise anyone going outdoors to avoid wearing shiny objects on their heads as this may exponentially increase the intensity of the Sun’s rays. They also advise people to purchase good quality sunglasses that match the shape of their overall features. These maximize the protection to the eyes though offer no protection against the evil eye. People should stay close together to minimize the skin’s exposure to the increased sunlight.
The extra light will have a positive effect on the Earth’s plant life. Certain rare species of plants, such as the Schmeissneria, are able to reproduce many times faster with an increase of just a single loom. A 26.8 lukems increase may help get the species out of the extinction danger zone and could possibly a crop source of the future.
The Extreme Sun will also have an effect on Zodiac signs. Astrologers predict that due to the increased brightness, people’s star signs will shift two steps forward for a whole day. Which means that Geminiswill become Leos and Scorpios will become Capricorns.
Azhubana Khabti, a renowned astrologer from Elbonia had this to say:“Your Zodiac shifting by two steps, but do not alarmed. It is once in lifetime opportunity to experience other Zodiac. Lots of good, little bad.”

10 Amazing Dangerous Toothpaste Ingredients

Toothpaste even though (in some form or another) has been around as long as the Ancient Greeks have, the formula (as we know it) did not become popular until World War I. As soon as companies began manufacturing toothpaste, people began to purchase the magical concoction - guaranteed to produce glistening teeth! White teeth were all the rage after World War I had ended, and toothpaste quickly became a product that most people simply couldn't live without.
Toothpaste is one item that nearly everyone uses today, but what makes this concoction so special? Whether you brush your teeth once per day or three times per day, chances are that you've never taken the time to read that ingredient list. Some believe that the ingredients contained in a standard package of toothpaste are essential - others believe that water may be just as effective. In the end, there's a good reason why most toothpaste packages warn: "Do Not Ingest!"

10. Formaldehyde

That same ingredient that coroners can't live without can be found inside of your toothpaste tube. Formaldehyde kills all of those small bacteria that climb onto your teeth after eating or sleeping. If a large amount of formaldehyde is accidentally ingested, the result could be fatal. Severe formaldehyde ingestion results in jaundice, kidney damage, liver damage, and death.

9. Detergent

Foam, suds, activation! What would toothpaste be without that satisfying soapy feeling? Manufacturers use regular detergent in order to appease the masses that prefer bubbly toothpaste. While bubbles may be fun, be careful if you accidentally ingest a large amount of this stuff - swallowing detergent can cause digestive tract burning.

8. Seaweed

Stretchy and slimy, seaweed holds that paste together. Without this green stuff, toothpaste would simply fall apart! The good news is that seaweed isn't toxic. Infact, seaweed has a number of nutritional benefits, though hitting the sushi bar is a better way of gaining those benefits.

7. Peppermint Oil

Minty, minty, minty! Fresh breath can only be kept fresh with the help of peppermint oil! While refreshing when brushing your teeth using toothpaste, peppermint oil can cause a slow pulse, heartburn, and muscle tremors if it is consumed.

6. Paraffin

As slick as the petroleum that it is derived from, paraffin creates a smooth paste that oozes onto your toothbrush using toothpaste. As you might imagine, paraffin wasn't meant to be eaten. If you happen to swallow this ingredient, you may end up with abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and severe constipation.

5. Glycerin Glycol

Never heard of this ingredient before? Sure about that? Glycerin glycol is added to toothpaste in order to prevent the paste from becoming too dry – it's also found in antifreeze. Even though glycerin is not toxic, this additive may cause nausea if swallowed.

4. Chalk

That's right - chalk. Thanks to the fact that chalk is made from exoskeletons, it's hard enough to remove all of that caked on gunk from your pearly whites. Chalk dust may cause lung problems if inhaled via toothpaste, and swallowing a bit of chalk could cause bleeding.

3. Titanium Dioxide

This is another common toothpaste ingredient, though it's usually found in white paint. When added to toothpaste, titanium dioxide has the safe effect on your teeth as it does on walls - it keeps them nice and white (for a few hours, at least!). Ingesting titanium dioxide won't hurt you, but it isn't recommended either.

2. Saccharin

Something has to combat that terrible detergent taste! Saccharin is sweet, but not too sweet - just the way that most people like their toothpaste! Saccharin has been a hot topic of debate every since Theodore Roosevelt was in the White House. The USDA tried to ban the substance in 1972, though it is considered "safe" to ingest today.

1. Menthol

One last ingredient to add a minty note to your breath. Without menthol, toothpaste might taste like, well, chalk, glycerin, paraffin, detergent, titanium dioxide, and seaweed! Go ahead and ingest menthol if you like, but sipping some tea containing menthol is a far better idea than chewing on your tube of toothpaste.

Inspired by Anna Hazare, a man leaves job for social service

An ardent fan of the social activist Anna Hazare has quitted his well-paying job and entered into the social service sector. 38 years old fan Fardeen Khan is a mechanical engineering graduate and had been working as a professor of physics at the popular coaching institute of Pune city. The institute prepares students for competitive exams (IIT entrance and other engineering exams).
Fardeen Khan is inspired by an appeal made by Anna Hazare against corruption. He started a helpline to guide students who can’t afford the coaching fees for classes and are interested in appearing for competitive exams. The helpline of Khan provides information to students as well as carry out aptitude tests, counseling and guidance sessions free of cost.
Fardeen said, “I started teaching in some of the best institutes in Kota, which is the country’s centre. Even after shifting to Pune four years ago, I wasn’t satisfied as I saw how much private institutes fleece students and parents. They are just interested in money, not in a student’s careers.”
He also said, “I always wanted to do something for poor students who deserve but can’t afford coaching. When Hazare appealed to the nation to fight against corruption in education, I felt my calling had come.”
The helpline number of Khan is actually his mobile number – 9373261056 which is dedicated for queries from students and parents.

Birth of girl here, spells joy, celebrations

Maharajganj (Uttar Pradesh, India), May 19: A first glance of Hatiagarh village located in Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj district, almost 500 kilometres from the state capital Lucknow may not reveal anything. However, as one explores it, interesting sociological trends, quite contrary to the present emerge.
The village, located almost 55 kilometres from the district headquarters is home to “Chamar Mangta”, a backward caste and it does not mourn the birth of girl. And this enlightenment is despite the fact that socio-economic backwardness reigns supreme in this remote hamlet.
Kisanwati, the village pradhan said, “The population of this community is nearly 100 in the village and there are about 25 such families. Though, they have been living here since generations, we have no idea, when they exactly came here. The village celebrates whenever a girl is born. Interestingly, if a male child is born there are no celebrations.”
The residents of the hamlet also have no idea from where their ancestors had migrated and for how long they were following this tradition. “For us girls are better than boys,” remarked Natthe, a member of the community, which is pre-dominantly nomadic and earns it livelihood by entertaining guests at different social functions.
“Even while bringing up, girls get more attention than boys,” Natthe said adding like other communities, girls perform domestic chores and the men folk discharge other duties.
Another interesting aspect of this remote hamlet is the prevalence of dowry. Though dowry system prevails in this community, it is exactly the opposite of what is followed elsewhere. “The dowry is paid to the family of the bride by the groom’s family,” said Rajaram, a senior member of the community.
The expenditure on the wedding function is also borne by the groom’s family.
“It is really unfortunate that in certain communities, people kill girls even before they are born,” said Kisanwati, when asked about the rising incidence of female foeticides in Uttar Pradesh and some other states in the country. “How could anyone do a thing like that? The girls are so lovely,” the village pradhan quipped.
Himanshu, a resident of Maharajganj is of the view that though this community is considered to be one of the most backward, as they are illiterate and survive on meagre incomes, they could be emulated by people from superior socio-economic segments.
“In a state like Uttar Pradesh, where the number of women per 1000 males has taken a sharp dip during the past decade, these comments should prove to be an eye-opener for those, who indulge in female foeticide,” he said.
According to India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the health indicators of Uttar Pradesh state that sex ratio of the state as per the 2001 census is 898, as compared to the national figure of 933.
As per the statistics released by Social Work for Mankind, an NGO, about 5-7 lakh girls a year or 2000 girls a day go missing in India due to female foeticide. The child sex ratio for the age group of 0-6 years is currently 927 per 1000 boys. Punjab has 798 girls, Haryana 819, Delhi 868 and Gujurat 883 per 1000 boys.
Some Female Foeticide cases:
In June 2007, a doctor was arrested for illegally aborting 260 female foetuses after police recovered bones and skulls from a septic tank in a maternity clinic in New Delhi.
On July 23, 2007 in Nayagarh district (Orissa) police had discovered 40 dead female infants in a dry well near a private clinic and within one month again from Bhubaneswar police got 30 cases of foeticides in 15 jars near the Forest Park.
From official record, it has estimated that in India everyday 7,000 female foeticides take place. Statistics reveal that as many as 10 million girls in India have been killed by their parents either before or immediately after birth over the past 20 years.
