Inspired by Anna Hazare, a man leaves job for social service

An ardent fan of the social activist Anna Hazare has quitted his well-paying job and entered into the social service sector. 38 years old fan Fardeen Khan is a mechanical engineering graduate and had been working as a professor of physics at the popular coaching institute of Pune city. The institute prepares students for competitive exams (IIT entrance and other engineering exams).
Fardeen Khan is inspired by an appeal made by Anna Hazare against corruption. He started a helpline to guide students who can’t afford the coaching fees for classes and are interested in appearing for competitive exams. The helpline of Khan provides information to students as well as carry out aptitude tests, counseling and guidance sessions free of cost.
Fardeen said, “I started teaching in some of the best institutes in Kota, which is the country’s centre. Even after shifting to Pune four years ago, I wasn’t satisfied as I saw how much private institutes fleece students and parents. They are just interested in money, not in a student’s careers.”
He also said, “I always wanted to do something for poor students who deserve but can’t afford coaching. When Hazare appealed to the nation to fight against corruption in education, I felt my calling had come.”
The helpline number of Khan is actually his mobile number – 9373261056 which is dedicated for queries from students and parents.
